Olde Primitive Treasures ~ Whimsical Primitive Treasures Inspired By Times Gone By!

Originally founded in 2004, OPT offered Handmade Primitive Dolls, Annies, Mammies, Candles, Melts, Bowl Fillers, Fixens, Refresher Oils and more. After a long break and numerous attempts to change my style I came to my senses and realized that I can't be who I am not. I may have been born in a City but I am a Country Bumpkin at heart and love the Country/Primitive Style.

I started sewing in 2002 and quickly realized that I wanted to let my creativity flow once again and discovered the wonderful world of primitives. I was hooked instantly! Such whimsy blended with times gone by quickly captured my heart and so I taught myself, with the help of several pattern creators, to sew. I haven't stopped sewing since!

Having always loved Candles and their luminous glow, I began making candles in 2005 with the desire to create a highly fragrant candle of much better quality than store bought.

After about a year of non-stop testing different waxes and fragrance oils and finding my formula, I was finally satisfied that I had achieved my goal. I continue to test to this day to provide my customers with nothing but the finest wax and fragrances. To be honest the testing never really stops as any chandler will tell you. Testing plays a huge part of candle making and with our candles and other products you can rest assured that they have undergone extensive testing. Our Candles are handpoured in small batches in our craft room (aka the dungeon) with the highest quality waxes and fragrance oils. Each one is scented with the maximum amount of fragrance oil that the blend of wax we use will hold. Our candles are made with a high quality paraffin wax blend that has excellent cold and hot throw. It burns very clean and we only use non toxic lead free wicks. We double wick our larger Jars so that there is no wall of wax and you get your money's worth in each and every candle you purchase from us. Our process creates a highly fragrant candle with an even burn from start to finish.

In late 2006 I jumped on the Cold Process soap making bandwagon and have been making soap ever since. Commercial soaps are a thing of the past for me and my family. Our soaps do not contain detergents - instead we use natural veggie oils and butters. Our soaps will moisturize your skin without drying it. Try one...you'll be hooked!

When I am not pouring candles or making soap, I love to garden and sew. My favorite things to sew are pillows and I have a passion for making primitive dolls, annies, mammies and crows! I am addicted to crows!
